The ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS is a high-performance all-season tire made by Continental. It is designed for sports cars, sports coupes, performance sedans, SUVs, and CUVs. This tire aims to improve upon its predecessor by offering better braking in dry and wet conditions, increased traction on snow and ice, and skillful handling. It is also built to provide confidence in inclement weather, including light snow. The ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS features an updated tread compound and an asymmetric tread design. It utilizes SPORTPLUS+ Technology for enhanced handling and braking performance. The tire has Macro-Blocks and Chamfered block edges to improve dry road traction and cornering responsiveness. The high angle and circumferential grooves help with water evacuation to resist hydroplaning. 3D sipes and X-Sipes are used to increase wet traction and grip in inclement weather. Traction grooves within the circumferential channels also enhance winter weather traction by improving snow-to-snow traction. Alignment Verification System is incorporated in the ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS, which helps identify vehicle misalignment concerns early on. The tire also has Tuned Performance Indicators, which are letters molded into the second rib from the outboard shoulder to indicate the tire's performance levels. The visible letters "DWS" mean the tire has suitable tread depth for dry conditions, wet roads, and snow. As the letters wear away, "DW" means it's appropriate for dry and most wet road conditions, and "D" means it's suitable for dry conditions only. To improve resistance to damage, this tire has a high strength, 2-ply sidewall construction and a Sport Sidewall Insert for better handling responsiveness. Continental's new triple action, hybrid cap ply is used to combine the positive attributes of a stiffer cord material and a flexible cord for improved handling and a smooth and quiet ride. It also helps maintain an optimized contact patch for even wear and longer tread life.
