It offers a good combination of traction, handling, comfort, and tread life. Please note that it is not suitable for driving in freezing temperatures, snow, or ice. The ExtremeContact Sport 02 features Continental's SportPlus Technology, which focuses on precise handling, wet traction, and improved wear. It has an asymmetrical design with wide tread blocks on the outside shoulder for better grip and high-speed handling. The continuous center rib ensures constant contact with the road, providing a stable on-center feel. The optimized footprint helps to distribute pressure evenly across the tire, enhancing tread life. Additionally, the +Silane tread compound technology ensures reliable handling in damp conditions, while the deep grooves efficiently evacuate water for resistance against hydroplaning. Internally, the tire has a strong construction with a two-ply polyester casing and two steel belts for durability. A polyamide reinforcement ply adds stability and performance at high speeds. It's important to note that if the tire is exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F or lower, it should be gradually brought back to at least 40 degrees F for at least 24 hours before any adjustments or usage. Please keep in mind that improper use or storage in cold weather can cause irreversible cracking of the tire's specialized rubber compound. Such cracking is not covered by the warranty, and any tires exhibiting compound cracking should be replaced.
