With its run-flat capability, this tire allows the vehicle to continue driving at a maximum speed of 50mph for up to 50 miles even with a flat tire. The Sport Contact 5 SSR is engineered to provide shorter braking distances, strong cornering, and reduced fuel consumption. It incorporates four circumferential grooves to effectively resist hydroplaning and enhance wet weather traction by channeling water away from the contact patch. Thanks to its continuous center rib and notched intermediate ribs, this tire offers rapid steering response and straight line tracking. The Black Chilli compound used in this tire reacts to braking forces and utilizes built up heat to reduce braking distance on both wet and dry roads. It also has long-chain polymers that release pent up heat to decrease rolling resistance. The asymmetric tread design with a macro-block outboard shoulder ensures strong road grip, cornering stability, and adaptability to different road surfaces. To enhance ride quality and handling, the SSR features steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped polyamide. This tire is available in rim diameters ranging from 17’’ to 20’’.
