However, it is important to note that this tire is not suitable for use in freezing temperatures, snow, or on icy surfaces. The SportContact 6 features Continental's Black Chili compound, which enhances traction by interacting with the road's surface. Its unique tread pattern includes a robust outer shoulder and a closely spaced middle rib to ensure stability during intense handling. The tire also has a continuous center rib that provides a solid on-center feel and swift response when turning. Additionally, the deep grooves and lateral notches effectively evacuate water to prevent hydroplaning. Internally, the SportContact 6 is reinforced with a two-ply rayon casing and two high-tensile steel belts for added strength. The tire's stability and control at high speeds are further enhanced by Continental's Aralon 350 hybrid cap ply. It is important to note that the SportContact 6 should not be exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F or lower without gradually returning them to at least 40 degrees F for at least 24 hours. Failure to do so may cause irreversible cracking in the tire's specialized rubber compounds. Cracking of this nature is not covered under warranty and requires the tire to be replaced.
