The tire is designed to combine durability and comfort on the road while meeting the severe snow service requirements of the tire industry. It has a tough compound that resists cuts and chips, with an all-terrain tread pattern. The tire also features General's Comfort Balance Technology, which enhances ride and sound comfort. The wide footprint and optimized pattern stiffness help distribute pressure evenly, ensuring even wear and a long lifespan. The Grabber A/TX has stone bumpers between the shoulder blocks to prevent rocks and debris from causing damage, and it also has sidewall protection lugs for added puncture resistance. The tire's deep starting tread depths and multi-angle tread blocks provide traction in loose terrain, and additional biting edges are created for grip in dirt, wet conditions, and snow. Optional metal studs can be added to enhance traction on ice and packed snow. The Grabber A/TX is built with General's DuraGen Technology, which includes ultra-high-strength steel belts and a robust, two-ply polyester casing for a balance between toughness and ride comfort. Two polyamide reinforcement plies ensure durability and high-speed capability. It's important to note that while non-winter tires with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol offer improved snow traction compared to all-season tires without the symbol, they are not equivalent to true winter tires in all severe weather conditions.
