This tire meets industry requirements for severe snow service and is suitable for areas that experience all four seasons but do not require dedicated winter tires. The Quatrac Pro features a specialized tread compound that incorporates a mix of resin and silica. The tread pattern is asymmetric and caters to different conditions. The outer shoulder and first rib are optimized for grip and control in dry and wet conditions, with a solid construction and reduced space between tread blocks. The inner rib and shoulder, on the other hand, are designed to perform well in wet and wintry conditions. They feature grooves and notches to effectively evacuate water and slush, along with zigzag sipes that provide winter traction and qualify the tire for the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol (3PMSF). Internally, the Quatrac Pro tire consists of a polyester casing and two steel belts for reinforcement. It also includes a polyamide component for improved handling and durability at high speeds. It is important to note that tires without the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol, although they may offer better snow traction than regular all-season tires (M+S), do not match the performance of true winter tires in severe weather conditions.
